Camille Demarinis’ work has been featured in shows across the United States including Oregon, New York, Wisconsin, Illinois, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Hawaii. Camille grew up in the state of Wisconsin surrounded by the natural beauty of Door County. She received a BFA from Cardinal Stritch University and an MFA from the University of Florida . She now lives and works amidst the landscape of North Carolina.
“The landscape changes whether it remains untouched, or is altered by our own hands. Through her work, Camille Demarinis explores enigmatic transformations of place. Among her subjects are dark moldy logs- impregnated with mildew, moisture, and axe blades; or the long trunks of trees being chipped into fine mulch-fiber clouds. These pieces are meant to foster intrigue about growth, destruction, time, and ideas of place in flux.”
