Artist Statement

“The landscape changes whether it remains untouched, or is altered by our own hands. Through her work, Camille Demarinis explores enigmatic transformations of place. Among her subjects are dark moldy logs- impregnated with mildew, moisture, and axe blades; or the long trunks of trees being chipped into fine mulch-fiber clouds. These pieces are meant to foster intrigue about growth, destruction, time, and ideas of place in flux.”
